Solutions

Connecticut needs Peter Lumaj to fight for:

I.    Economic Growth and Job Creation

The Liberal agenda has destroyed the U.S. Economy. American preeminence both domestically and internationally must be restored.

Stabilizing the Value of the Dollar

  • A strong and stable dollar is important to maintain the U.S. leadership in the world. Our reserve-currency status gives certainty to American families and businesses regarding both price stability and wage growth. The current model grounding American Congressional & Central Bank finance is primarily informed from the errors of socialism.
  • Sound money means the elimination of intrusive liberal governance. To increase aggregate demand and productivity means we must liberalize the American citizen consistent with the Republican ideals of individual sovereignty.

Establishing a Flat Tax

  • Reform today’s complex and corrupt personal and corporate income tax code by broadening the tax base, simplifying the tax code and increasing revenue collection.
  • Eliminate federal payroll taxes, the capital gains tax, and death tax.
  • Eliminate or reform IRS.
  • Shake up the “politics-as-usual” status quo.
  • Washington’s power vacuum permits the power of lobbyists to dominate American financial interests. Conservatives need to elect members who will pursue policies that benefit the citizen NOT professional lobbyist’s.
  • Transfer power to the American people from Wall Street, K Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Reducing Government Spending

  • Eliminate redundant fiscal federal regulations which currently cost the U.S. economy an estimated $1.7 trillion a year.
  • Pursue a Constitutional Amendment limiting Congressional spending as a percentage of GDP.
  • Repeal Obamacare.
  • Reform Entitlements which drives deficit government spending.
  • Repeal the Dodd-Frank “financial reform”.
  • Eliminate baseline budgeting.

Reforming Health Care

  • Repeal Obamacare as it limits health care choices and violates the Constitution.
  • Permit a market-based health care system and allow individuals to have a health care savings account.
  • Allow insurance companies to sell health insurance across state lines
  • Encourage competition, eliminate fraud and reign in medical malpractice suits

Job Creation

  • Reduction of marginal tax rates permits the individual to create enterprises
  • Put Americans back to work instead of pitting them one against the other.
  • Elimination of confiscatory regulation that prohibit the investment of jobs in growth industries.

II.    National Security

The U.S. defeated Nazism, Fascism, Totalitarianism, and Communism and NOW we must defeat terrorism by:

  • Identifying, locating and obliterating terrorists wherever they are.
  • Having a clear “peace through strength” approach towards nations that harbor or support terrorists and implement a moratorium on visa immigration.
  • Maintaining the strongest military in the world.
  • Supporting democracies and oppose dictators.
  • Re-investing in maintenance of Superpower alliances.
  • Scrutinizing the false legitimacy that autocrats seek at the UN.
  • Making it clear to the world that an attack on Israel is an attack on the U.S.

III.    Energy

The U.S. cannot become energy independent unless it:

  • Eliminates or reforms EPA job-killing anti-energy production agenda.
  • Develops vast natural gas and oil reserves now accessible from breakthroughs in drilling and extraction technologies. This approach would create tens of thousands of high paying jobs and will ultimately end the “energy crisis”.
  • Scales back taxpayer subsidies for ethanol.
  • Let’s the market decide how to produce new forms of energy.

IV.    Education

Our educational system can lead the world if we:

  • Drastically reduce or eliminate the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Expand charter schools and the voucher program.
  • Have a merit pay system for teachers.
  • Support private education.

V.    Immigration

Our borders, language and culture must be preserved by:

  • Executing stronger border control with Mexico and Canada to stop the inflow of illegal immigration.
  • Making English the official language and encouraging assimilation into the American culture
  • Pursuing a legislative agenda that acknowledges the need for temporary work permits so as not to criminalize sectors of the economy regarding immigrants who pay taxes and obey the law.
  • Permitting state officials the authority to enforce U.S. Immigration laws.
  • Expediting legal immigration and reconsider the Dream Act.

VI.    Constitutionalism

To safeguard our God-given unalienable rights, we must:

  • Protect the individual’s freedom, “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness,” as enshrined in the Declaration of Independence.
  • Reestablish our constitutionally limited government.
  • Enforce Federalism in accordance with the Tenth Amendment.
  • Appoint judges who are strictly constitutionalists.
